UK embassy: We follow up reports on murder of Egyptian national in London

The British embassy in Cairo on Wednesday asserted that it was following up reports on the murder of Egyptian national Sherif Adel Habib in London.

In a released statement, the embassy added that it is cooperating with the Egyptian and British governments in this regard.

The metropolitan police are working hard to uncover the reasons and circumstances behind the death of Habib, said the spokesman for the embassy in the statement.

The UK government will be in constant contact with the Egyptian Foreign Ministry and the Consulate in London to respond to any question by the Egyptian authorities or the family of Habib on this score, he added.

Anymore details will be an issue that is related to the metropolitan police under the UK law, he further noted.

The spokesman expressed condolences to the family of the victim.
