
The United Kingdom welcomed the framework agreement between theUS and Russia on Syria chemical weapons. Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) released a statement following the phone conversation between the US Secretary of State John Kerry and British Foreign Secretary William Hague which stated the words of top British diplomat saying as, \"we welcome today’s announcement of aframework agreement to ensure the destruction of the Syrian chemical weapons programme. This is a significant step forward.\" \"The priority must now be full and prompt implementation of the agreement, to ensure the transfer of Syria’s chemical weapons to international control,\" the statement noted Hague\'s words and continued as, \"I will hold talks with Secretary Kerry and French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius in Paris on Monday to discuss the way forward, including action at the United Nations Security Council.\" Hague was quoted as saying, \"The onus is now on the Assad regime to comply with this agreement in full. The international community, including Russia, must hold the regime to account.\"
