UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has strongly condemned the terrorist attacks carried out Sunday on two churches in Kenya and claimed the lives of at least 17 people and wounded many others. "These attacks, which deliberately targeted places of worship, are reprehensible and criminal," he said in a statement late on Monday. "No cause can justify the indiscriminate targeting of civilians. The perpetrators of these attacks, and of other recent terrorist acts in Kenya, must be held to account," he added. The incident happened when four heavily armed men, launched an attack on two churches in the Kenyan town, Garissa earlier on Sunday. The attack resulted in the death of 11 women, five men and a child. No one has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attacks.
