UN in renewed Syria peace call

Speaking upon arrival in Damascus Sunday, the new head of the UN observer mission in Syria General Robert Mood urged the Syrian government and the opposition to consolidate the ceasefire, establish a dialogue and extend cooperation to the observers. Effected on April 12th, the Syrian ceasefire has been punctuated by intermittent fighting. The government accuses the armed opposition of committing at least 1,300 violations.
