UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon has called on China to use its influence in implementing the plan of UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan, at its forefront putting an end to violence and military campaigns. The appeal came during telephone talks between the UN leader and China\'s Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi. They discussed \"the imperative need for the violence to stop at once\", said UN spokesman Martin Nesirky. The UN leader \"called on China to use its influence to ensure the full and immediate implementation\" of Annan\'s six-point peace plan and an international communique which China agreed on in Geneva calling for a political transition in Syria, indicated the spokesman. He pointed out a message Annan has sent to the Security Council Friday, accusing the Syrian government of taking UN decisions lightly by committing the massacre in the village of Triemsa on Thursday in which at least 150 people died, Nesirky added. Ban asserted to the Chinese FM that the UN observers\' mission is attempting an investigation into the massacre under extremely dangerous conditions.
