The members of the UN Security Council last night expressed their welcome and support of Russian and Turkish efforts to end the violence and achieve a cease-fire in Syria, and stimulate the political process led by the UN.
Olof Skoog, Permanent Representative of Sweden to the UN, which heads the council this month, said that the security members are calling on all parties to respect the cease-fire in Syria, pointing out that there is an emphasis on inviting the parties to allow humanitarian agencies to have quick and safe access, without hindrance, to all parts of Syria.
