UN to relocate its staff in Syria

United Nations (UN) will decrease number of its personnel in Syria due to security. Spokesperson for the UN Secretary General Martin Nesirky told journalists in New York on Monday that a hotel which host UN staff, and a UN vehicle were effected from number of mortar shells falling. Nesirky said, most of the Damascus-based staff of the Office of the Joint Representative for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi were going to be temporarily relocated to Beirut, Lebanon, and to the Joint Special Representative\'s main office in Cairo. Moreover, he added, until further notice, all of the Office\'s national staff have been asked to work from home. He told reporters, \"United Nations remains active and committed to helping the Syrian sides in their search for a political solution\". He also added, there are about 100 international and 800 Syrian national UN staff in Syria working.
