UNHCR commissioner Guterres in Gaziantep

UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres has said, \"I would like to state that I was impressed during my visits in (Turkey\'s Syrian) camps. This success is not just about being professional or effective working, I saw that this comes from heart.\" The UN refugee chief is visiting Turkey to hold talks about Syrians refugees in Turkey and ways for cooperation between the Turkish government and the UN refugee agency. Guterres visited a refugee camp in the southeastern province of Gaziantep on Sunday and during his visit in the tent city in Gaziantep, Guterres talked to several Syrian families. Moreover, Guterres visited health centre of the camp and he was informed about the services of the camp by Turkish officials. \"While we were visiting, a Syrian father who has a disabled son approached to us and talked to us. I observed that Turkish officials started to act immediately accordingly to his will. I saw that Turkey provides high standards of protection to Syrian shelter seekers. I will make sure for the international community to hear my voice in the framework of helping out Syrians,\" noted Guterres. There are more than 185,000 Syrian refugees living in 17 Turkish camps.
