
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) expressed its concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Palestinian refugee camp of Yarmouk in Syria.
In a statement released today, UNRWA Spokesman Chris Gunness said that it is painful to see another chapter of the suffering of civilians in Yarmouk, adding that fierce fighting there is not only resulting in civilian casualties but also sharply exacerbates the food and clean water shortage problem for about 6,000 families in the camp.
