US concerned about Lebanon stability

US is concerned that developments in Syria are contributing to instability in Lebanon. The US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in a press statement, on Friday urged all parties to exercise restraint and demonstrate respect for Lebanon’s security and stability, consistent with international law and UN security council resolutions. "We remain committed to a unified, stable, sovereign, and independent Lebanon," she said. Clinton, in her statement called on the Syrian regime to stop the violence against its own people, fully implement the Annan Plan and institute an immediate peaceful, democratic transition.
