
The United States Embassy condemned attacks against Iraqi Christians who were celebrating Christmas. A statement issued on Wednesday, Dec. 25, by the US Embassy in Baghdad expressing annoyance about such attacks and asserting commitment to its partnership with the Iraqi Government in combating the plague of terrorism. The statement pointed out that Christians and many other innocent Iraqis suffer, for years, from the intentional brutal attacks by terrorists. It went on saying that the US Embassy strongly condemns Wednesday’s attacks in Doura area, in Baghdad, against Christians who were celebrating Christmas; it extended sincere condolences to the victims’ families and wishing the wounded speedy recovery. Earlier in the day, police source said that three improvised explosive devices went off in the Assyrians’ market, in Doura area, killing and wounding tens of persons. / End.
