US congressional decision on Syria to have lasting impact on US politics

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu stated Monday that \"US Congressional decision on Syria will have a lasting impact on US politics.\" Speaking on the private Turkish TV channel \"HaberTurk\", Davutoglu stated whatever the decision of US Congress would be, the consultation method to the Congress to give the decision over a military strike in Syria would be deeply debated in the coming future.    Davutoglu said that the \"international community should not give up deterrence\". - \"Turkey takes all measures against every type of security risks\" Davutoglu stressed \"Turkey is taking all measures against every type of security risks,\" and added that \"any attack against us will receive a response.\" He said they, as Turkey, did not call or encourage anyone for a war, adding they laid forth a humanitarian call, which will be maintained. \"It was the Assad regime who declared war,\" Davutoglu noted and said the international system has failed the test on Syria. Saying Assad\'s threat, that anything can happen after a military strike, implies he had control over terrorist groups, Davutoglu stressed and said, \"Anyone who sides with Assad would share the same crime [...] every element to side with Assad would pay the cost.\" Davutoglu underlined that only living by such a regime in Syria was a risk itself and said, \"Had the international community displayed a similar determination two years ago, we would not have seen the use of chemical weapons in Syria.\" - \"UN report must be published as soon as possible\" Reminding that the UN investigation committee can only determine whether or not chemical weapons were used and not who used them, Davutoglu stressed \"UN report on chemical attack in Syria must be published as soon as possible.\" \"The chemical attack was made by missiles which are only in the hands of Syrian regime. The Syrian regime kept a part of Damascus closed for three days after the chemical attack in order to erase all traces of chemical weapons,\" Davutoglu said. Davutoglu added, \"Russia and China should bring forward another proposal if they block United Nations (on Syria).\" Noting that there were 200,000 missing people in Syria due to the civil war, Davutoglu said, \"Syrian regime must be punished as clearly as possible,\" and stressed they made great efforts so that the Syrian administration talked with civil elements. Davutoglu also noted they began talking with Syrian opposition only on and after October 10, 2011 and underlined, \"Turkey has no ties or relationship with Al Nusra [...] Turkey has never supplied aid to Al Nusra or any similar organization.\"
