President Obama\'s top counter-terrorism adviser was in Israel this week to confer about the recent bus bombing in Bulgaria, a senior U.S. official confirmed. The White House issued a statement Wednesday confirming John Brennan met Wednesday with Israeli intelligence and military officials to discuss not only the blast in Bulgaria, but also the broader anti-Israeli actions by Hezbollah and Iran\'s Revolutionary Guards, plus the situations in Syria and the Sinai, Haaretz reported. No one has claimed responsibility for the Burgas, Bulgaria, bombing, which killed five Israeli tourists and a Bulgarian citizen. Israel, however, said it suspected Hezbollah had something to do with it. Haaretz noted Brennan was the third high-ranking U.S. official to visit Israel in the past 10 days. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and National Security Adviser Tom Donilon arrived earlier, and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta was scheduled to arrive next week. U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney planned to visit Israel Sunday, the newspaper said.
