At least 22 people have been killed in two separate incidents in north-western Pakistan involving US drone strikes against militants hideouts and a bomb attack against a vehicle by the Taliban, security officials said Wednesday. According to dpa, the two drone strikes took place in South Waziristan, one of the seven tribal districts along the Afghan border where Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters are based. One drone fired two missiles at a centre of the Pakistani Taliban, according to an intelligence official who requested anonymity. "Eighteen minutes later another drone fired two more missiles in the same area at another Taliban centre," he said. "In both attacks 16 militants have been killed," he said.
