US has asked for Pakistan’s top spy agency assistance in initiating peace talks with Taliban linked Haqqani network, media here reported Monday.Teh Daily Express Tribune website reported that US aims to end the war in Afghanistan by its renewed approach. US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wants the ISI to launch reconciliation talks and described the new approach as “Fight, Talk and Build”. Earlier US Admiral Mike Mullen, before retiring as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff had said that Pakistani intelligence agency ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) supported Taliban linked Haqqani network in an attack on US embassy in Kabul. The report alleged that there are some elements in the ISI that are not moved by the approach to force dialogue because they might lose influence in Afghanistan, as the US is planning to withdraw troops from the region. A former top White House aide on Pakistan and Afghanistan Shamila N. Chaudhary said, \'The big question for the US administration is what can the Pakistanis actually deliver? Pakistan is holding its cards very closely.\'
