Vandals strike east Jerusalem neighborhood in nationalistic attack

Vandals punched tires of ten cars and drew hate graffiti in alleged Price Tag attack against Palestinians in eastern Jerusalem, Israeli police confirmed to Xinhua on Tuesday. Miki Rosenfeld, a spokesperson for the police, said that graffiti read \"Death to Arabs\" and \"Price Tag\" was spray-painted on walls in Beit Tzafafa, a Palestinian neighborhood of Jerusalem. The police has opened an investigation and is scanning the area for more evidence but has yet to apprehend any suspects, Rosenfeld said. The so-called \"Price Tag\" attacks usually target Arabs and their property as well as Christian and Muslim holy sites in occupied West Bank. They include torching cars, chopping of olive trees, and spray-painting \"Price Tag\" and racist slogans on walls of Palestinian buildings. However, in the passed years, an increase number of Price Tags were made against Israeli Arab citizens inside the state of Israel. \"The government throws solutions in the air, but we see more and more events like this happening all over,\" Walid Elian, of the Tzafafa Community Council, told Israel Radio, adding that \"there are reckless youngsters who get involved in troubles on both sides. \"
