WFTU condemns US interference in Middle East, Palestine

Secretary General of the World Federation of Trade Unions, George Mavrikos, on Wednesday condemned the blatant interference of the US and the Zionist regime in the affairs of Palestine and other countries in the Middle East region. George Mavrikos made the remarks in a meeting with Iran’s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani. According to Majlis Information and Press Bureau, the Greek envoy called for expansion of parliamentary relations and cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Since the two countries share many cultural commonalities, Greek parliamentarians call for speeding up the activities of Iran-Greece Friendship group. On the country’s ailing economic system, he said the false promises of the western countries never resolve the issue. The Iranian Majlis speaker, for his part, highlighted the two sides’ glorious civilizations and described the two sides\' relations as bolstering and promising. Larijani was informed of the current austerity program in Greece and expressed the hope to witness improvement of the situation.
