Yemen Interior Minister Maj. Gen. Abdul Qadir Qahtan met here on Monday with European Union Counter-terrorism Coordinator Gilles de Kerchove and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting Yemen. During the meeting, they discussed relations of cooperation and security coordination and ways of boosting them, especially in fields of counter terrorism and organized crime, Yemen news agency (SABA) reported. At the meeting, Qahtan pointed to the efforts exerted by Yemeni security and military bodies in counter-terrorism process and victories they have achieved against al-Qaeda terrorist elements. He valued the aid provided by friends in the EU for Yemen and their supportive positions to achieve the security and stability in Yemen and the region. For his part, the EU official offered his condolences to the Yemeni security bodies on victims of the terrorist incident that targeted the Police College students last Wednesday, parsing the successes achieved by the security and military bodies in the fight against terror. He also expressed EU\'s readiness to present more coordination and support to the Yemeni security bodies in this field ,so as to achieve the security and stability in Yemen and the region.
