Yemen and the U.S. discussed here on Wednesday the areas of security cooperation and ways of enhancing them, especially in the fight against terrorism and organized crime. This came during a meeting gathered Interior Minister Abdul Qader Qahtan and the U.S. Ambassador to Yemen Gerald Feierstein. In the meeting, Qahtan reviewed the efforts of the Military Affairs Committee and the security services in the process of maintaining security and stability and eliminating the sources of tension, according to the texts of the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism. He praised the efforts made by the U.S. and its continued support for maintaining the security, stability and unity of Yemen. For his part, the U.S. ambassador hailed the efforts made by the Military Affairs Committee and the security services and their successes in the process of maintaining the security and stability and the organized crime. He affirmed his country’s continued support to Yemen and its security, stability and national unity.
