The Yemeni government on Saturday welcomed the meeting of the group of Yemen's friends to be held in London on March 7. The meeting will be co-chaired by Yemen, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom, according to a press release by the Yemeni Foreign Ministry. It will focus on three key issues, namely the political, economic and security files in addition to the preparations for a comprehensive national dialogue on the format of the future political system of Yemen, the development of a new constitution and conducting fresh presidential and legislative elections in 2014. It is scheduled to mull the economic reforms, assess the progress in meeting the pledges made by international donors during the Riyadh conference and the Yew York meeting in last September, the statement pointed out. The meeting will also review the latest developments in the security situation in the light of the presidential decrees for restructuring the army as well as the threats posed by terrorist groups. The group of friends of Yemen is expected to reaffirm political and financial support to Yemen's efforts to implement the GCC initiative as well as the relevant UN Security Council resolutions
