
The Eritrean authorities released on Monday 132 Yemeni fishermen who were detained by Eritrea, charge d'affaires of the Yemeni embassy in Asmara Mohammed al-Azani remarked.Al-Azani told the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) that efforts exerted by the Yemeni embassy in Eritrea resulted in the release of the fishermen, pointing out that 1673 fishermen had been released last year. The diplomat affirmed that the embassy is still communicating with the Eritrean authorities to release other 400 Yemeni fishermen, appreciating efforts and follow-up of President Abdo Rabbu Mansour Hadi regarding this case.He also singled out that the visit of Foreign Minister Abu Baker al-Qirbi and his meetings with Eritrean officials last year were fruitful, and contributed in releasing the fishermen.
