
Minister of Legal Affairs Mohammed Ahmed al-Mikhlafi met here on Sunday with Executive Director of Human Rights Watch (HRW)'s Middle East and North Africa division Sarah Leah Whitson and her accompanying delegation. At their meeting, the Minister welcomed the HRW's delegation and reviewed what have been achieved by the ministry in area of promoting the protection of human rights during the transitional phase. The achievements of the ministry in adopting laws and resolutions in that field were also touched upon in the meeting, as well as discussing means of the rule of law and justice and the promotion of transitional justice with accordance to the National Dialogue Conference (NDC)'s outcomes. For her part, the HRW Director expressed her thanks to the Minister over his understanding of the requirements of the current period of the country. Al-Mikhail in return expressed his hope for this meeting to be a fruitful one and leads to continuous cooperation relations in field of human rights.
