
The Parliament approved, in its meeting on Sunday, a draft law on amending some articles of the Law No.(13 ) for the year 2001 on the general elections and referendum and its amendments in its final form. This move by the parliament came after reviewing and discussing the report of the joint committee formed from the committee of the constitutional and legal affairs and the committee of the freedoms and human rights. The discussions of MPs and their amendments to the draft law emphasized on proceeding from the higher interests of Yemen and on conducting the upcoming elections in a free, transparent and fair manner, which every citizen, who reached the legal age and registered his name in the electoral constituency, will participate in according to the law. The MPs pointed to the need for conducting the elections in all constituencies by the electronic electoral register.
