Yemeni President meets EU officials

Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi met here today with the High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union Catherine Ashton . During the meeting Ashton confirmed the European Union’s support for Yemen and the stage led by President Hadi as well as the Union’s support for the implementation of the second phase’s steps of the Gulf initiative and the EU’s support for Yemeni President’s efforts to meet the challenges and push his country to a better reality. The Yemeni President, who is currently on a visit to Brussels, also met with European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso. During the meeting, they discussed aspects of supporting the ongoing political process in Yemen in accordance with the Gulf initiative, in addition to the EU’s full economic support to Yemen in order to overcome the difficult situation.
