Yemeni security forces foil improvised bomb

Yemeni Security forces thwarted a terrorist bombing attempt near the country\'s national security building in Eden province, Yemeni Defense Ministry said. The ministry said in a statement that security officials discovered on Sunday an explosive device, which was put at the entrance of the political security office, and defused it. \"The device was packed with powerful explosives and it was arranged for  remote detonation,\" the statement added. The ministry said that security apparatus has conducted a wide campaign against terrorist cells that aim to destabilize security of the country. Al-Qaeda has recently carried out deadly suicide bombings targeting military and security chiefs, personnel and cadets in several Yemeni cities including the capital Sana and vowed to retaliate after the army drove militants out of their strongholds in the south.
