Youth movement sues Tantawi head of military

April 6th Youth Movement intends to file a complaint against the former leaders of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF), including ex-minister of defence Hussein Tantawi and ex-General Hussein El-Roueini, accusing them of turning a blind eye to accusations filed by the movement earlier last year. The group explains it filed a complaint in mid-2011 against Tantawi and El-Roueini accusing them of defaming the movement in the SCAF\'s sixty-ninth communique issued on 23 July, where the SCAF wrote that the April 6th Youth Movement was \"turning the people against the army.\" At the time, SCAF had been ruling the country following the ouster of president Hosni Mubarak on 11 February, 2011. Mohamed Adel, member of April 6th Youth Movement and blogger announced that they will hand in a document compiling all evidence of violations committed by SCAF members to the public prosecutor and fact-finding committee. Adel noted that in global experiences of reform, military members never escaped their punishments, stressing that \"bloodshed of innocents will not go in vain and that all who ordered or carried out these crimes will have to pay the price.\" Earlier in August both Tantawi and El-Roueini, as well as other SCAF members were retired in a massive reshuffling in a move by President Mohamed Morsi to wrench powers back into the hands of the executive branch and immediately swear in replacements to the SCAF committee.
