Zahra slams orders to lift immunity on Harb

Member of Parliament Antoine Zahra denounced Public prosecutor Hatem Madi's orders to lift the immunity on MP Boutros Harb under the pretext that the latter blasted the President of the Republic and the justice system in Lebanon. Zahra stressed that Harb is a man of integrity who dedicated his life his country and its citizens. The MP wondered why Madi would prosecute Harb although this MP has heaped praise on the president for his efforts to achieve justice and activate the judicial system. "We can't understand how the public prosecutor considered this support to the president as accusations against him," Zahra said. He was also surprised that the arrest warrant against the man suspected in the assassination attempt on Harb coincided with the request to lift the immunity on the MP. Zahra also asked why those who have been targets of assassination are now being prosecuted by the authorities.
