
Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif's visit to Doha yesterday was part of visits he made recently to Kuwait and Oman to exchange views on the Geneva agreement on the Iranian nuclear program, Qatari Foreign Ministry official said Tuesday. Discussion between Qatari Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and Zarif highlighted Qatar's welcome on the Geneva accord as a preliminary step for a comprehensive solution and to achieve stability in the region, the Director of Asian Affairs Department Yusuf Al-Sadah said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA). During the meeting, the Qatari Amir reiterated support to the Syrian people and their just demand, and the importance of a political solution that ensures the legitimate rights of the Syrian people, in addition to discussion on developing ties between the two countries, Al-Sadah said. Al-Sadah added that Qatar does not have direct or indirect contact with the Syrian regime, but its only contact was with the Syrian people, represented by the Syrian National Coalition and the Syrian opposition
