PLO Committee Member Dr. Ashrawi met with Slovenian Representative Milko Dolinšek

PLO Executive Committee Member Dr. Hanan Ashrawi met with Slovenian Representative Milko Dolinšek at the PLO Headquarters in Ramallah on Tuesday the 23rd.

Ambassador Dolinšek presented Dr. Ashrawi with an invitation from the Slovenian Foreign Ministry to participate in the 12th annual Bled Strategic Forum alongside heads of state and government, ministers, diplomats, and scholars.

They also reviewed upcoming plans for the President of the Slovenian Parliament and the Minister of Education to visit Palestine in June, and they assessed Dr. Ashrawi’s recent visit to the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana in which she met with Slovenian State Secretary Darja Bavdaž Kuret and gave a lecture at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Ljubljana.

The discussion also focused on the latest political and regional developments, including Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump in Bethlehem, Israel’s persistent violations of international law and conventions, and the ongoing collective hunger strike by Palestinian prisoners who are nonviolently protesting against Israel’s wilful breach and devaluation of their rights and lives and its continued military occupation of Palestine.

In addition, both parties reviewed bilateral relations and future cooperation between Palestine and Slovenia.
