
One person was killed and four others wounded on Tuesday when a bridge was partly collapsed in Cairo, state-run Ahram Online reported. Some four shanties under the bridge were set ablaze and caused several butane cylinders and electricity cables explosion. The explosion led 100 meters of the Sheikh Mansour Bridge to fall down. Both the dead man and one of the injured are belonging to the civil protection sector, while the other injuries are civilian accidentally pass during the accident, the report added. Official news agency MENA quoted a ministerial official as saying the maintenance process will take two weeks, while the bridge will be open for traffic in a month. The collapse halted two metro stations in Line 1 which connects northern part of the capital and Helwan province in the south. Cairo governor Galal Moustafa Saeid decided to allocate apartments and residential units to families harmed by the collapse of the bridge.
