Twelve members of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood group in Fayyoum, south west of Cairo, were jailed for 25-30 years in absentia over riots.
They were tried over charges of affiliation to outlawed group, taking part in protests without necessary security permissions, illegal assembly, destroying public and private properties, and blocking roads.
The incidents dates back to October 6th, 2013, when pro-deposed president Mohamed Morsi protesters marched in Fayyoum, chanting anti-police, army, and government slogans.
They also clashed with residents and police troops, who resorted to firing tear gas canisters to disperse the gatherings.
