A lot of interesting events are set to be held across the UAE this weekend. We select some of the best events to make it an exciting week for you. Here are our pick of events to check out this weekend.
Catch Cars
Never one to shy away from a sequel, Disney is bringing out the third instalment of Cars on June 15. This isn't an invite to go see the movie, though. This is an invite to go meet the stars of the film right here in Dubai. Head to Mall of the Emirates from tonight to get up close and personal with Lightning McQueen. He'll be there until the 14th of June.
Cars 3 features Owen as the voice of Lightning who is blindsided by a new generation of blazing-fast racers - including next-gen racer Jackson Storm, voiced by Armie Hammer. Will he make it as a race car against these whippersnappers? Why not ask him yourself?
Happy home
Learn home décor tips for increasing health, wealth and harmony by the leading Feng Shui and Vastu expert, Padmaja Yadav. She will be conducting free seminars on home interior and Vastu during the Indian Property Show from tonight at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Will it work for you?
Eat and give
If you think you should be doing more charity, here's something that's quick and easy. UberEATS has partnered with Man'oushe Street and agreed to pledge a meal to the Emirates Red Crescent Society for every Man'oushe Street order made via UberEATS until June 24.
Chef's special
Enjoy an iftar with Chef Javed the unconventional way... by learning how to cook his personal favorite Ramadan delicacies. That's right, the chef is going to teach you. The workshop is held on June 9 from 4pm to 7pm at the Western Hotel Madinat Zayed. Bookings are a must. Email info.mz@western-hotels.com to reserve your spot.
Breakfast time
For those not fasting, you may not want to let your breakfast rituals slip. It's the 'most important meal of the day' after all, as a healthy breakfast can sustain energy levels, improve performance and help maintain a healthy weight. Home-grown health hub, Flow, is serving its delicious and healthy breakfast menu as usual from 7am. Enjoy Granary French Toast with Poached Peach and Egg Arlington.
Charity and pizza
PizzaExpress has launched a charity pizza for the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC), dedicated to the rehabilitation of victims of domestic violence, abuse or human trafficking. Melanzane Romana contains roasted eggplant, feta cheese, red and yellow peppers, mozzarella, Passata, garlic oil and chilli oil, finished with wild rocket. Delicious and worthy.
Television nation
Salaam Namaste UAE is back on Colors TV with Season 2. This locally produced TV show draws inspiration from ordinary UAE residents who have been visionaries in their chosen fields. In line with 2017 being 'The Year of Giving' it will air for seven weeks with an aim to make a difference in society. Starting on June 10 and hosted by Tarana Raja, tune in every Saturday and Sunday at 8pm.
Culture at BurJuman
Make your way to BurJuman every Ramadan evening and take part in a host of traditional Arabic activities. This weekend start with coffee and dates at the Main Atrium from 7pm to 10pm. Then there's lantern and pottery painting. Have your hands painted up with Arabic henna designs before moving over to the Arabic calligrapher for a perfect souvenir to take home. Be sure to get there early-ish from tonight to avoid the rush.
Get in the groove
With Ramadan in full swing, finding the time to exercise isn't easy, which is why Fit Inc has their doors open 24/7 this Ramadan (yes that's right - all day and night!) so you don't need to miss out on giving your body its essential dose of exercise and endorphins.
You can choose between two fitness deals for Dhs500 per month which include unlimited Calisthenics and Parkour classes or unlimited Cross Inc. (cross fit) classes (both options include gym access). Get in shape Dubai!
