Fourteen Algerian hajjis have died in the Holy Places of Islam since the beginning of hajj 2014, the services of the Algerian Hajj Mission said Tuesday.
Among the death cases, five were recorded since before the beginning of the rituals and nine others died in Mount Arafat and in Mina, according to the mission, which explained the death of the Algerian hajjis by heath problems, advanced age of some of them and one case due to sunstroke.
The Algerian medical mission provided care to the sick hajjis by giving them initial treatment, while the serious cases have been evacuated to Saudi health facilities in Mina and Arafat.
