
Fifteen lawmakers announced running for the post of deputy speaker during the first procedural session of the House of Representatives, which kicked off earlier Sunday.
The 15 lawmakers will be competing for the two seats of deputy speaker.
The MPs are: Mohamed Omara, el Sayed el Sherif, Emad Gad, Mohamed Askar, Medhat el Sherif, Alaa Eddin Abdel Moneim, Hossam el Serfi, Khaled Hanafy, Mohamed Abdel Badea, Samir Ghattas, John Talaat, Soliman Wahdan, Hatem Bashat, Aneesa Hassouna and Sanaa Barghash.
Parliament Speaker Ali Abdel Aal formed a committee to oversee the electoral process of his two deputies.
