As many as 17 supporters of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group were arrested in Gharbiya and Fayoum governorates over taking part in illegal protests and instigating violence.
In Gharbiya, two people affiliated to the outlawed group were arrested after partaking in a march in Mahalla city.
Dozens of the protesters staged a protest in Mahalla city without taking the necessary security permission, chanting anti-police and army mottos and raising the yellow-four-finger slogans, referring the pro-deposed president Mohamed Morsi's sit-in in the Rabaa el- Adaweya Square.
Meantime in Fayoum, security forces arrested 15 supporters of MB, who were wanted over attacking police stations and governmental facilities after dispersing Rabaa el- Adaweya and Nahda protests.
In December 2013, an Egyptian court labelled the MB group a terrorist organization, blaming it for a string of attacks in the country and banning all its activities nationwide.
