
The National Congress Party (NCP) revealed on the duties and functions of the Higher Committee for accountability and Monitoring, that was formed by the NCP Leadership Bureau chaired by Ahmed Ibrahim AL-Tahir, has approved its work regulation, which indicated that the committee to assume the responsibility of accountability the NCP membership on the regulatory violations that occur in the centre and the states according to regulatory list recently approved.
The NCP Chairman of the Regulatory Communications Sector Engineer Hamid Siddig that the approved list won't exclude one from the membership, explaining that the formation of the committee comes in the current time as of some regulatory deviations that would occur coinciding with the complementary states' conferences for the general conference.
Meanwhile, Engineer Siddig said in a press statement Tuesday at the after the sector meeting that the NCP has set up 18 criteria for selecting candidate to Wali (governor) position in the coming elections, adding that the NCP will from higher committees from the centre to stand on the selection of five candidates of each states in their general conference and then the centre to select one out of these five persons with the same criterion. He declared formation of another higher committee to monitor the societal dialogue, chaired by Al-Sharif Ahmed Omer Badr, for coordination between the societal dialogue components and to address its internal problems.
On the other hand, the NCP Official of Organization refused to comment on the arrest of the Deputy Chairman of the Umma Party, Dr. Mariam Al-Saddig Al-Mahdi , saying that the issue concerns the state and its security bodies and the party.
