Assiut hospital manager Ashraf Zine al Abedine announced the death of two more persons as a result of heatwave which has been hitting Egypt for weeks.
In statements Monday, he said the hospital treated 324 persons who suffered the heat exhaustion and that some them who suffered hard were moved other hospitals.
The Ministry of Health announced earlier that 98 persons have died since the start of the heatwave in Egypt.
Another 181 persons have so far been hospitalized from heat-related illnesses, the Ministry said Monday, adding that 104 of those have already been discharged from hospital.
It urged citizens, particularly the elderly, people with chronic diseases and children, to take preventive measures in light of the rise in temperature.
Citizens should not be directly exposed to the sun, especially in the noon, the Ministry said, advising them not to leave their homes except for emergencies.
The statement said that infants, children and persons aged 65 and above are more apt to suffer from heat strokes.
