
Assistant Interior Minister and Director of the General Administration of Cairo International Airport Police General Fahmy Megahed said two x-ray devices have entered service at the airport as part of new security measures taken by security authorities to upgrade security systems at the Egyptian airports to comply with international standards.
In statements to MENA, Megahed said two devices will be used in detecting explosives and narcotics, noting that five other devices will be imported to follow up on the implementation of a security plan outlined specially for Cairo Airport to maintain security of passengers and aviation movement.
He also unveiled that periodical security checks are being conducted on Cairo International Airport staff as part of such plan to secure the terminal
