
The United Arab Emirates marked the year 2015 as a year of innovation.
Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum ordered in August 2015 to allocate a national Emirati week for innovation, that started on Nov.22 and ended on Nov.28, 2015.
The report about the UAE's achievements and initiatives in 2015 indicated that 800 activities and initiatives have been launched in one week by 214 bodies of the federal government and local sector and the private sector.
These initiatives and activities included all the emirates of the country.
The executive boards and local committees in the emirates supervised the achievements and initiatives in all regions of the country.
The activities and events which took place all over the country during the innovation week included exhibitions, conferences, workshops and interactive programmes, in addition to the announcement of national initiatives and global partnerships, as well as a number of activities in public places in different emirates.
