
Cairo Criminal Court sentenced on Monday 22 defendants to 10 years rigorous imprisonment and fined them 20,000 pounds on charges of violence.
The court also placed them under state parole supervision for an additional five years.
Seven other defendants received five-year terms and placed them under state parole supervision for another five years for inciting violence in Qasr el Qoba area.
All 29 defendants had been referred to criminal court for taking part in non-peaceful Muslim Brotherhood rallies in violation of protest law.
The public prosecution had also accused them of possessing tools used to attack citizens and sabotage public and private property.
