274 people killed in Syria clashes since January 3

At least 274 people have been killed since Friday in confrontations between the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and other militants in Aleppo, Idlib, Raqa and Hama provinces. Of the figure, 41 civilians were killed in clashes, and five others were hanged by ISIL militants, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Tuesday. Another 129 militants were also killed in violence among different militant groups and factions in Idlib, Hama, Aleppo and Raqa, it said. Moreover, 99 militants belonging to the ISIL alone were killed in clashes with other violence groups in Idlib, it added. Clashes are still raging among militants in different provinces in the violence-hit country, the SHOR pointed out. The Al-Nusra Front has captured over 100 ISIL fighters at a police station, it said. Meanwhile, 19 people, including two children, an old man and three women, were killed when pro-government security and army forces shelled a marketplace in Al-Ferdaws neighborhood, the observatory added.
