Eastern Province Gov. Prince Saud bin Naif has awarded SR425,000 to 32 drivers and three agencies for their commitment to the country’s traffic laws.
The awards ceremony was organized by the traffic safety committee in cooperation with the traffic department in the Eastern Province and the Saudi Society for Traffic Safety (Salamh) in Dammam.
Prince Saud said the awards were important to raise awareness about traffic safety, and that there were plans to set up similar initiatives in other parts of the country.
Sultan Al-Zahrani, general secretary of the initiative, said the awards were unique and had encouraged people to obey the country’s laws. He hoped it would be replicated across the nation.
He congratulated the winners and appealed to them to be ambassadors on traffic safety issues. He praised Saudi Aramco, Dammam University and Al-Husan for participating in the initiative.
