The death toll from a car bombing that took place outside the Police Academy here early Wednesday rose to 33.
Sixty-two more were injured in the blast, most of them in critical condition, said Abdel Aziz al Qudsi, deputy director of Sanaa police.
A booby-trapped car exploded targeting crowds of students applying to enroll in the Police Academy.
The ministry decided to suspend applications for one week, the ministry's media center said.
It added that the ministry will send field committees to different provinces to register names of students wishing to join the academy.
