As many as 340 Egyptians have returned home from Libya over the past 24 hours via Salloum border crossing.
Out of the all returnees, 315 Egyptians returned legally, while the rest had come back illegally, said Matrouh security chief Hisham Lotfi on Thursday.
Meantime, departure procedures for 737 passengers, including 320 Egyptians and 417 Libyans were finalized.
Egypt exerts utmost efforts to control its border with war-torn Libya to prevent smuggling and illegal migration, he added.
