
A court in Menya, south of Cairo, adjourned until October 11, the retrial of 354 Muslim Brotherhood members over charges of storming a police department and attempted murder.
Eleven of the defendants were released pending the trial on health grounds.
Sixteen new defendants have been included into the case. They have been recently arrested.
The court decided to postpone the retrial to listen to the arguments of lawyers.
The defendants are accused of killing a police commander and seizing from a stormed a police department in Matay township.
In the previous trial, 37 of them were sentenced to death and 491 with life sentences. The rest were acquitted.
A higher court annulled the rulings and decided a retrial.
The MB group was designed a terrorist group in December, 2013. It has been accused of a string of violent acts including armed attacks and blasts.
All properties, assets and activities of the group were confiscated.
