Yemeni Defense Ministry on Wednesday announced the arrest of five Saudis belonging to Al-Qaeda, including a prominent figure.
Hamza Al-Sharouri, a leading Al-Qaeda figure, along with four others were arrested as they were involved in killing 15 soldiers in Hadramout governorate in eastern Yemen two months ago, the ministry said in a statement.
Meanwhile, some gunmen kidnapped a Russian physician who was standing outside a military hospital in Ma'rib city, east of Yemen, and took her to an unknown place, medical sources said.
The sources added that the gunmen exchanged fire with soldiers based at a military checkpoint near that hospital, injuring some personnel.
There was no official source to confirm the incident.
