
Five defendants accused of blowing up a car in Adliya were sentenced today to 15 years in jail by the High Criminal Court, Advocate General and Chief of the Terror Crime Prosecution Ahmed Al Hammadi said.
Three defendants were charged by the Public Prosecution with causing an explosion to terrorise people, setting a car ablaze and jeopardising people's lives as well as destroying movables for a terror purpose.
Two defendants, alongside an unidentified one, were convicted of assisting in committing the crimes that happened on April 6, 2014.
The convictions were based on evidence from the defendants' confessions, police investigation and the prosecution witnesses' testimonies.
