
Six people were killed and 206 others were injured on Sunday in a fire in a residential complex of Saudi Aramco oil company in Al-khobar in Eastern province, Sabq local online news portal reported.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the oil company has worked with local civil defense team and put down the fire.
The complex is home to employees of the oil giant. Aramco indicated that an investigation has been launched into the incident.
The civil defense authorities said the fire first started in a basement of a tower in the complex, adding that among the injured, some are in critical condition, while the casualties are from different nations without disclosing details.
Saudi Aramco is the world's largest oil firm in terms of crude production and exports. It has more than 61,000 workers worldwide from 77 countries.
