The higher coordinative mechanism for the national dialogue (7+7) Saturday signed the roadmap for the national dialogue, which included guarantees of the dialogue, its comprehensiveness and the mechanisms for its implementation.
In a press statement following a meeting of the mechanism Saturday at the Friendship Hall, the Deputy Chairman of the National Congress, Prof. Ibrahim Ghandour said that the roadmap for the national dialogue was signed today to mark the kick off for the national dialogue.
He said that it was a good coincident that the signing of the roadmap synchronizes with launching of the societal dialogue which will be addressed Sunday morning at the Friendship Hall by the President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir.
Prof. Ghandour has called on all the political forces and the gun-holders to respond to the call of the President of the Republic for national dialogue so as to present a unique model for dialogue that can be followed by all the countries at the region and the world.
On the agreement signed in Paris between the Revolutionary Front and the leader of the National Umma Party, Saddiq Al-Mahdi, Prof. Ghandour said that we repeat the statement of the National Congress that those signed the agreement abroad have left the things they were demanded inside Sudan.
He said that searching abroad for Sudan issue is a search that often ends by failure.
Prof. Ghandour said that there is a big difference between the comprehensive cease-fire, which means an entire road-map to end the war and people's suffering, and a cessation of hostilities that gives the rebel movement a new change to get ready once again for a prolonged war.
He said that the seriousness is to sign an agreement on comprehensive and immediate cease-fire that is followed by agreed upon political and security arrangements within an agreed upon timing.
Meanwhile, member of the mechanism, Ahmed Abu-Gasim, said that the committee's meetings were prevailed by a spirit of understanding toward reaching the aspired goals.
He expressed his confidence that the roadmap has met all the basic requirements for convening the national dialogue conference, adding that holding of the societal dialogue conference will be a good boost to the conference of national dialogue.
It is to be noted that the mechanism for national dialogue has added the axis of governance issues and the implementation mechanisms for the existing axes of peace, identity, basic freedoms, economy and foreign relations.
