
Eight militants from the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were killed Friday in the Syrian town of Ain Al-Arab (Kobane) in clashed with Kurdish fighters, a Syrian monitoring group said.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that ISIL militants carried out an offensive against posts controlled by the Kurdish fighters two days ago as the clashes continued till the first hours of dawn.
It added that the clashes coincided with the bombardments carried out by the western-Arab international coalition's jets which targeted ISIL's hideouts in the eastern part of Ain Al-Arab (Kobane).
For their part, Kurdish fighters carried out an offensive on an ISIL hideout on the road leading to Aleppo west of Ain Al-Arab, as fierce clashes took place between the two sides, leaving three ISIL fighters killed.
